'To Hide the Truth'

2020

Flowers in Resin

The only Inevitable truth is that we will one day take our last breath and no longer be able to abide to the world challenges. However for the people you leave behind on this earth, it can be traumatic experience for them, and come to terms with this may seem strange if not impossible.
This is something I found hard to understand; in western culture we tend to bury the bodies to create a grave where loved ones can visit. As a child I naively thought why? Why are we visiting someone we can no longer see. Upon aging, my uncertainty didn’t change, however I would partake in laying the flowers down on the grave and ‘spending time’ with a loved one. I soon realise I done this because I still wanted them to be apart of my life; a vague memory is better than none. But covering the grave with flowers and reminiscing of times past, I could hide that they are no longer here. To Hide the Truth.
