'Who told you lunch is free?
(However Dinner can be on expenses)'
2020
Acrylic on Plates
During October 2020, the British Government decided not to give free school lunches to children during the half term. This would average out to £2.50 a child each day.
During this time, MPs expected to recieved a £3,300 pay rise. Another benefit of being an MP are the expenses you can claim back. One of these are that if the MP stays out of their constituency overnight they are able to claim back £25 for food each night.
On the wage they are on, I do wonder if MPs really need to claim this back. Especially when they've had a pay rise and when children are going without food.
